Salah Returns to Liverpool After Afcon.
The Liverpool striker returns to his team after the international fixture that ended on Saturday.
He’s back from AFCON. Does he make the squad?
Mohamed Salah returned to Liverpool on Tuesday after participating in the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations. He’s back in time to play the match against Marseille, but he still doesn’t know if he’ll be named to the squad for the game at the Orange Vélodrome, Marseille’s home stadium.
Salah has just returned from competing in an international tournament with his country, Egypt. The Pharaohs finished fourth after losing to Nigeria 4-2 on penalties in the bronze medal match.
Does he have a spot on the team right now?
It’s worth remembering that Mohamed Salah didn’t play in the last Champions League match, and the last game he played for Liverpool was against Brighton; he came on as a substitute due to Joe Gomez’s absence and then had to fulfilll international commitments and travel to Morocco.
It’s unclear whether Mohamed Salah will play in this match against Marseille or, if he doesn’t, when he might rejoin the squad. “It’s a decision between the coach and the club,” said his Hungarian teammate Dominik Szoboszlai about Salah’s possible return to the squad.
