Robertson relaxed about Liverpool future amid contract situation
Andy Robertson's current deal with Liverpool runs out at the end of the season, but he is content with whatever the future holds.
Andy Robertson remains relaxed about his future at Liverpool despite his contract expiring at the end of the 2025-26 campaign.
Robertson arrived at Anfield from Hull City in 2017 for a reported £8m transfer fee and has been an integral figure in the Reds' success since joining the club.
The Scotland international has made 354 appearances across all competitions, netting 12 goals and providing 68 assists, the latter total only being bettered by Trent Alexander-Arnold (85) and Mohamed Salah (113) during his time on Merseyside.
Robertson has also lifted plenty of silverware with the Reds, with two Premier League titles, the Champions League and the Club World Cup among his trophy haul.
However, the 31-year-old was linked with a move away from Liverpool over the summer after Arne Slot's team secured the services of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth.
Atletico Madrid was one of the reported destinations for Robertson, but his decision to stay put has been rewarded after starting each of Liverpool's last three matches.
"I think last season everyone was bored of talking about the three lads [Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold], but for me the relationship between me and the club has been a wonderful one," Robertson said.
"They've done everything for me in terms of me and my family. I think I've not been too bad for them in terms of signing from Hull for £8 million and what I've done.
"Whatever happens will happen behind closed doors, and I'm relaxed about the whole situation. If it is my last year, then it's my last year. If it's not, then so be it."
Robertson was also asked if he had been in talks over a new deal with Liverpool, who have endured a stuttering start to their Premier League title defence so far.
"I think obviously I had a bit of a stressful summer in terms of decisions and things like that," Robertson added.
"And I've said to myself to just try and enjoy the next few months and then, obviously, it will probably start taking over my life. I've got no doubt about that.
"That's what happens when you go into your last six months. I'm just trying to focus on football now.
"Delighted to be back on the pitch, delighted to be back playing the last few games. That's important and let's see what happens.
"But I'm relaxed about the whole thing and the club has been amazing for me."
