Pickford targeting European places with Everton after contract extension
Jordan Pickford wrote his name in the England history books during the October break, and is now looking to do the same with Everton.
Everton have announced that Jordan Pickford has signed a new four-year contract at the club.
The England international's new deal will see him stay at Hill Dickinson Stadium until the end of June 2029, extending his previous contract by two years.
Pickford joined the Toffees in 2017 from Sunderland and has now made 326 appearances for the club, while also winning 80 England caps in that time.
The 31-year-old also played in his 300th Premier League match for Everton last time out against Crystal Palace, seeing him become the second goalkeeper to do so after Tim Howard (354).
He also became the second English shot-stopper to reach that milestone for a single club after David Seaman made 325 appearances for Arsenal.
Meanwhile, during the October international break, Pickford became the first Three Lions goalkeeper to record nine consecutive clean sheets as England booked their spot at the 2026 World Cup.
The Toffees are currently eighth in the Premier League after seven games, and Pickford has eyes set on a European adventure, and some silverware, in the near future.
"I'm delighted," he told Evertontv. "Delighted to get it done – it's an extra two years, so four years in total.
"I'm over the moon, and it gives me the opportunity to build a legacy for myself here, move forward and build this club to where we want to be.
"Everton is a really special club to me. Coming from Sunderland as a young lad and growing into a man here, it's been a special time for me and my family.
"I think the dark days are behind us, and it's about building that momentum as a team and the club now. I think it's the whole deal, really.
"The manager wanted us to continue our form [from the end of last season] into this one, and he'll keep pushing us.
"We've started well, and we want to keep building that momentum and get Everton Football Club back to a team that competes in Europe. We know it's tough to do, but it's a journey we want to go on, and it's hard work that we'll put in as a club.
"We want to have that direction and, hopefully, one day we'll lift some silverware as well."
