Noel Gallagher celebrates the arrival of Enzo Fernández

The addition of Enzo Fernández to Manchester City generated immediate enthusiasm among fans and also among Noel Gallagher, former Oasis singer and avowed fan of the club. The musician said that the Argentine brings a competitive edge to the midfield that the team has been needing. “Enzo is exactly the player we need,” he said with conviction

A midfield with more personality

Gallagher emphasized that City needed a player with a strong personality, capable of standing up to opponents. “We've been missing that. We wanted a player similar to Roy Keane, not to put him on his level, but someone who would stand up to his opponents," he explained. For him, that intensity is something that other players on the squad don't usually show: "I want that at City, because Phil (Foden) isn't going to do it, Elliott Anderson isn't going to do it."

The choice of jersey number, a gesture of character

The musician also appreciated Fernández's decision to ask for Kevin De Bruyne's jersey. “I liked that he asked for Kevin's jersey, because I guarantee you they weren't going to offer it to him. That shows he's got balls. I love it,” he said. For Gallagher, that gesture reflects confidence and ambition, qualities that fans expect to see on the field. “It makes me happy that he's here,” he concluded
