Moyes would 'love to keep West Ham in the league'
Everton face Tottenham on the final day of the Premier League season, and David Moyes' former side West ham need a favour from the Toffees.
David Moyes revealed he would love to keep his former side West Ham in the Premier League on the final day of the season.
Moyes' Everton face Tottenham on Sunday, and if West Ham are to avoid relegation, they must defeat Leeds United while hoping Spurs lose to Everton.
Everton have won just one of their last 16 Premier League away games against Spurs (D4 L11), losing the last four by an aggregate score of 13-1.
However, Spurs are winless in their last 10 home league games (D4 L6), their second-longest run in their league history after a 14-game streak between October 1993 and April 1994.
"I'd love to keep West Ham in the league if I can do," said Moyes.
"But it's more important I get Everton that top-half finish and we get a few more million pounds because of our league position."
Everton are 12th heading into the final, while a better finish could go towards signing Jack Grealish on a permanent deal.
Grealish has directly contributed to eight goals (two goals, six assists) in the Premier League for the Toffees following his loan spell from Manchester City, but has not featured since January after suffering an ankle injury.
"We’ve got a few plans in place. Finances will obviously play a big part in it so we will need to navigate round the best we can," Moyes said.
"Obviously we like Jack a lot. We’ve looked after Jack all the time since his injury. It’s looking in good order now, the surgeon speaks very well about it and thinks it’s healing greatly.
"Normally a player would go back to his parent club and be looked after from there, but we will continue doing our best for Jack.
"He is incredibly well liked inside and outside the building but ultimately he is not our player, he is Man City’s player.
"We’ve had hm on loan for a year and I have to say we’ve enjoyed having him."
