Salah says goodbye to Liverpool
Mohamed Salah left Anfield with a message that resonated as much as his goals. The Egyptian forward played his last match with Liverpool and, although he has not yet confirmed what his next destination will be, he made it clear that what marked him the most was the bond with the people: "The affection of the fans is what matters most to me."
In the last match, he provided an assist to Curtis Jones, the only goal in the 1-1 draw against Brentford. That assist also made him the club's all-time top assister in the Premier League with 93, surpassing Steven Gerrard. Arriving in 2017 alongside Andy Robertson, Salah was a key player in a cycle that led Liverpool to conquer everything: from the Champions League to the Premier League, including the Club World Cup.
