Messi and Casemiro Together in Miami?
After starring in legendary battles in El Clásico de España, it now seems that Lionel Messi and Casemiro could become teammates. Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the MLS is already working on bringing the Brazilian midfielder in after the FIFA World Cup.
Casemiro’s Future and MLS Interest
Casemiro is out of contract with Manchester United and has already announced his departure from the club. However, his recent performances have led part of the fanbase to call for his renewal, as he has proven to remain an essential player in the midfield at Old Trafford. Even so, all signs suggest his time in England will come to an end, and the Brazilian is already evaluating his next destination.
The Italian journalist’s report indicates that the MLS is already in talks with the player and that he has reportedly given the green light to move to the United States once the World Cup concludes. However, his strong performances in recent months have also attracted interest from other European clubs, which could complicate the deal.

Manchester United, Brazil, and a Possible Move to Miami
When he announced his departure in early 2026, Manchester United was going through a period of uncertainty. Michael Carrick had just taken charge, and the team’s transformation was not yet evident. Under his leadership, the Red Devils have completely changed their outlook: they are close to qualifying for the UEFA Champions League, sit third in the Premier League, and have lost only two matches since the English coach’s arrival.
That improvement has also boosted Casemiro’s performances. The Brazilian has regained his importance and once again become one of the most solid midfielders in the league. With the Brazil national team, he also remains a key player for Carlo Ancelotti, who considers him one of the dressing room leaders.
A strong showing at the World Cup could further open doors in Europe and increase his offers. Even so, Casemiro has previously expressed admiration for Lionel Messi, which is why he would reportedly be open to the idea of joining Inter Miami.
For now, as reported by Fabrizio Romano, the MLS has already taken initial steps to try to bring the Argentine and the Brazilian together on the same team.
