Manchester City have further bolstered their squad by announcing the addition of highly-rated teenager Sverre Nypan. 

Nypan has agreed to a five-year contract with Pep Guardiola's team, joining from Norwegian side Rosenborg for a reported £12.5m (€14.5m) transfer fee. 

The midfielder made 70 senior appearances for Rosenborg across all competitions since his debut at the age of 15, registering 14 goals and 11 assists. 

Nypan has also represented his country, Norway, at Under-21 level, and often operates in central midfield, but he also has the ability to play across the front line. 

He was a reported target for Arsenal and Aston Villa, but Nypan becomes City's fifth summer signing after Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki, Tijjani Reijnders and Marcus Bettinelli.

And speaking to the club's official website, Nypan is not only looking forward to working with Guardiola, but also compatriots Erling Haaland and Oscar Bobb. 

"I am incredibly happy and proud to have joined Manchester City," Nypan said. 

"It's a dream for any young footballer to become part of this club and to join such a group of world class talent. 

"I am still very young with a lot to learn, but the chance to be coached by Pep Guardiola, the best manager in the world, will only help me to become a better player. 

"There is already a special connection between Norway and Manchester City through Erling Haaland and Oscar Bobb, and I am very proud to have become the latest Norwegian player to have joined the club."
