Man City complete Ait-Nouri transfer ahead of Club World Cup
Manchester City have made Wolves defender Rayan Ait-Nouri their first signing of the summer window ahead of the Club World Cup.
Manchester City have completed the signing of Wolves left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri ahead of their participation in the upcoming Club World Cup.
Ait-Nouri, who has signed a five-year contract with Pep Guardiola's side, arrives at the Etihad Stadium for a reported £31million transfer fee.
City begin their campaign in the newly-expanded tournament against Moroccan club Wydad AC on 18 June, with other group fixtures against Al Ain and Juventus to follow.
Ait-Nouri was a pivotal figure in Vitor Pereira's resurgence at Wolves in the Premier League last season, with the club finishing 16th despite failing to win any of their first 10 league games of the campaign.
The Algeria international registered 11 goal involvements (four goals, seven assists) in the top flight in 2024-25, more than any other defender in the division.
Ait-Nouri's Wolves career finishes with 157 appearances across all competitions since his move from Angers back in 2021, notching nine goals and 15 assists.
City have also reportedly agreed a £46.3m deal to sign AC Milan's Tijjani Reijnders, adding to the £200m spent in the January transfer window.
"City are one of the biggest clubs in the world and the chance to play for the club is a dream come true," Ait-Nouri told Man City's official website.
"I am excited about working with and learning from Pep Guardiola and his coaching team and getting to train and play alongside such a world class group of players."
