Madueke wants to 'win all the competitions we're in' after sealing Arsenal move
Noni Madueke switched Chelsea for Arsenal on Friday, joining the north London side for a reported £48.5m transfer fee.
Noni Madueke has high aspirations after completing his move from Chelsea to Arsenal, as he wants to "win all the competitions we're in".
Madueke penned a five-year contract with the Gunners on Friday and arrived in north London for a reported £48.5m initial transfer fee, which could increase further with add-ons.
In the Premier League last season, only Cole Palmer (51) completed more dribbles than Madueke (45) for Chelsea, while he also created the fifth-highest number of chances (32) in the team.
And having joined Arsenal fresh from claiming Conference League glory with Chelsea at the end of last season, he has his sights on more trophies with his new club.
"I'm somebody who goes with my gut feeling a lot of the time, and I feel like it's steered me in the right direction so far," he told the club website.
"So, I don't think it's going to be any different here. I think it's going to be a great success, and I'm really happy to be here.
"It's already a great team with a clear identity, and I can't wait to bring my style to the team and try and help the boys as much as possible to take that next step.
"[I want] to win all the competitions we're in. I feel like we're definitely capable of doing that. And also, to help the team in every way I can and grow as a player, but also as a person."
Arsenal have finished as runners-up in each of the last three Premier League seasons, while they have not won a major trophy since August 2020, in Mikel Arteta's first year in charge.
The Gunners have strengthened this transfer window already, with Madueke their fourth signing after Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, and Kepa Arrizabalaga, who they also signed from Chelsea.
Arsenal are also reportedly closing in on the signings of Sporting CP's Viktor Gyokeres and Valencia's Cristhian Mosquera as they aim to mount a title challenge once more.
And Arteta is excited about what Madueke will add to his strengthening squad.
"We're all so happy to welcome Noni Madueke to the team," Arteta said.
"Noni is an exciting and powerful young player, with his performances and numbers in recent seasons being of consistently high quality. He is one of the most talented wide forward players in the Premier League.
"At just 23, Noni already brings experience of club and international football, and he knows the Premier League very well.
"Having seen the quality of Noni's performances up close in recent seasons, we're really excited he is joining us. His arrival will really improve our squad."
