Liverpool May Have Found Mohamed Salah’s Replacement: The Reds Look Within the Premier League
It’s no secret that the relationship between Liverpool and Mohamed Salah is not at its best, to the point where the Egyptian star has lost his place in the starting lineup
Ahead of AFCON 2025, which will be broadcast on beIN SPORTS, Salah is going through a difficult stretch. Not only has he lost his starting role, but Liverpool are already working on a potential replacement
Who Could Replace Salah at Liverpool?
Interestingly, the Reds’ target would come from within the Premier League. Antoine Semenyo has emerged as a strong candidate to become Liverpool’s major signing in the winter transfer window, following his breakout season as a scorer with Bournemouth.
The 25-year-old Ghanaian forward reportedly has a $87 million release clause. Semenyo has been one of the league’s standout performers, registering six goals and three assists in 14 Premier League matches.

Arne Slot has struggled to find consistency with Liverpool, leading him to make changes to the lineup — including benching Salah, who has even been left out of some matchday squads.
“I will have a conversation with Mo this morning, and the outcome of that conversation will determine what the team looks like tomorrow,” Slot said at a press conference.
“What I need is to have a conversation with him, and I think the next time I speak about Mo should be with him and not here.”
