Liverpool Could Pay More Than 100 Million for a Bundesliga Star
Liverpool advances for Diomande, the Ivorian dreams of Anfield, Leipzig asks for more than 110M, PSG and Bayern also eye his future
A possible acquisition
Liverpool has initiated advanced talks with Diomande's agency, although they have not yet contacted RB Leipzig directly. The English club would have to face a multimillion-dollar transfer, as the Ivorian forward has a contract valid until 2030, and the German entity, third in the Bundesliga and on track for the Champions League thanks in part to his performance, would demand more than 110 million dollars. According to Sky, Leipzig is even considering extending their contract with the player.
Surpassing the 100 million barrier
If it materializes, the signing would make Diomande the fifth Bundesliga player to surpass the 100 million barrier, after Havertz (10 million to Chelsea in 2020), Wirtz (37 million to Liverpool in 2025), Bellingham (39 million to Real Madrid), and Dembélé (62 million to Barcelona in 2017). The Ivorian only arrived last year from Leganés for 22 million dollars and already has 13 goals and eight assists in 32 matches. Additionally, he made his debut with his national team in October and could face Germany in the group stage of the World Cup.
His breakout has sparked the interest of several European giants. Liverpool is the favorite, although PSG would also have made recent contacts. The player himself confessed in January: "I am a big fan of Liverpool. My father dreams of seeing me at Anfield. That is my dream too."

¿Where is Liverpool?
The 'Reds' are still in the fight for the Champions. They currently occupy the fifth place in the Premier League, which grants access to the tournament, with a seven-point lead over Chelsea after beating Everton 2-1 in the derby and taking advantage of the 'Blues' defeat against United. Despite the inconsistent campaign and the tension with Salah in December, who announced his departure at the end of the season, David Ornstein assured in The Athletic FC that Slot will continue on the bench, with a contract until 2027.
