Jack Grealish has addressed the speculation surrounding his absence from Manchester City's preseason tour of Asia after he was left out of Enzo Maresca's 28-man squad.
The England international made it clear that his omission has nothing to do with the coaching staff's plans and is instead the result of an injury that continues to keep him from full training.
The same injury also ruled Grealish out of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and he says he is still working his way back to full fitness.
"I Haven't Been Left Out"
Questions about Grealish's future intensified after reports claimed that he and Kalvin Phillips had been left out of City's preseason squad.
The winger responded directly to one of those reports on social media to set the record straight.
"Just so everyone knows, I'm still recovering from injury so I'm not even training yet. I haven't been 'left out,' so stop talking nonsense, thanks," Grealish wrote in a post that was later deleted.
His Manchester City Future Remains Uncertain
Although Enzo Maresca has publicly stated that Grealish remains part of his plans, multiple reports in England suggest the winger could leave the club before the transfer window closes.
His absence from the Asia tour has only fueled further discussion about his future, particularly with several first-team players still away following their involvement in the World Cup.
Manchester City begin their preseason tour on Saturday against Inter Milan in Hong Kong, while Grealish continues his rehabilitation.
Grealish Is Focused on Returning to Full Fitness
Missing the World Cup was a major setback for the 30-year-old, who had hoped to play a key role for England on football's biggest stage.
His immediate priority is now to complete his recovery and prove he can still become an important player under Maresca.
With the transfer window still open, Grealish's future remains one of the biggest talking points surrounding Manchester City heading into the new season.
