How much longer will Erling Haaland stay at Manchester City? A prediction puts a date on his future
Erling Haaland is under contract with Manchester City until 2034 after signing one of the longest deals in elite football history.
However, the fact that the Norwegian striker still has eight seasons remaining on his agreement does not necessarily mean he will complete all of them at the Etihad Stadium.
Joleon Lescott, a former Citizens defender, admitted that he would be surprised to see the forward remain in Manchester until the end of his contract, although he does not believe there is any immediate risk of a departure.
Real Madrid remain on the horizon
Although there are no signs that Haaland is looking to leave Manchester, his name continues to be linked with Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Speculation increased after Alf-Inge Haaland, the striker’s father, acknowledged that any player could be attracted by the possibility of playing for the Spanish giants.
Although he stressed that his son is happy at Manchester City and has a long-term contract, he also said that you never know what might happen in football.
When could Haaland leave Manchester City?
The former defender’s prediction suggests that Haaland will remain at the club for the foreseeable future, possibly until at least 2028 or 2029.
However, completing his contract through 2034 appears to be a less certain scenario. Interest from the Spanish giants, his individual ambitions and Manchester City’s sporting decisions could reshape the situation over the coming seasons.
For now, the English club retains full control over the future of its star, while Real Madrid continue to monitor from a distance a potential move that, should it ever happen, could become one of the most expensive transfers in history.
