Fulham 1-3 Everton: Quickfire Keane, Beto goals complete comeback win
Fulham's European ambitions were dealt a major blow as they fell to a 3-1 defeat at home to Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.
Michael Keane and Beto scored in the space of three second-half minutes as Everton claimed a 3-1 Premier League win at Fulham to dent their hosts' European prospects.
The Cottagers made a bright start and went ahead through a thumping Raul Jimenez header after good work from Emile Smith Rowe.
Yet despite attempts from Harry Wilson and Alex Iwobi, Fulham failed to build on their momentum, and Everton restored parity as Vitalii Mykolenko's deflected effort fortuitously found the net on the stroke of half-time.
Jordan Pickford pulled off a spectacular save to keep out Wilson's audacious lob, and Everton were rewarded for a much-improved second-half performance when Keane headed home from Dwight McNeil's deep corner in the 70th minute.
After a long VAR check to confirm that goal, Everton swiftly made it 3-1 - Beto's effort squirming through the grasp of Bernd Leno.
Fulham wanted a penalty deep in stoppage time, but after a VAR check, referee Darren England stuck to his original decision not to penalise Mykolenko for handball.
And though Marco Silva's team remain in 11th place, victories for Brighton and Brentford mean they are now four points adrift of eighth place with just two games remaining, while Everton leapfrogged Wolves into 13th.
Data Debrief: Fulham's dip all but ends European ambitions
It is now a run of four defeats in the last five league games for Fulham, who have dropped 28 points from winning positions in the Premier League, which is the joint-most of any club in the division this season.
Everton stuck in it and exposed that soft underbelly. Despite having 11 shots to Fulham's 18, the Toffees finished with a marginally higher expected goals figure (1.05 to 0.97), even if they did benefit from some good fortune for their first and third goals.
Beto got the clincher. He struggled for gametime under Sean Dyche, and his form had dipped off as of late after an initial bounce under David Moyes.
But he now has two goals in his last two appearances, and in total under Moyes, Beto has netted seven times in the Premier League, with only Mohamed Salah, Alexander Isak and Jean-Philippe Mateta scoring more in that timeframe.
Moyes will also be delighted by the resolve shown by his side, with Everton coming from behind to win on the road for the first time since a 2-1 win against Southampton at St Mary's in October 2022.
