Could Pep Guardiola And Cristiano Ronaldo Join Forces At Al-Nassr?
Saudi Arabia dreamed of bringing Pep Guardiola and Cristiano Ronaldo together at the same club… and official contact already happened.
Saudi Arabia wanted another historic move
Saudi football once again sent shockwaves through the sport after reports revealed that Al-Nassr made official contact in an attempt to sign Pep Guardiola following his announcement that he will leave Manchester City.
The story became even bigger because the move could have created the possibility of seeing Guardiola work alongside Cristiano Ronaldo for the very first time — something that never happened during the careers of two of the most influential figures of modern football.
After winning both the Saudi Pro League and the AFC Champions League Two, Al-Nassr was left without a manager following the departure of Jorge Jesus, accelerating the club’s search for another global superstar to lead the project.
Guardiola’s agent confirmed the contact
It was Guardiola’s own representative, Josep Maria Orobitg, who publicly confirmed that conversations with the Saudi club had indeed taken place.
Speaking to Saudi outlet Okaz, the agent explained that Al-Nassr contacted Guardiola around a month and a half ago, although he insisted there was never a formal offer or advanced agreement between the two sides.
“There was contact a month and a half ago, just contact, without any commitment or written offer,” Orobitg said, while also dismissing reports that claimed the Spanish coach had been offered a record-breaking €130 million per season contract.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Pep Guardiola… the impossible duo?
The mere possibility of bringing together Cristiano Ronaldo and Guardiola created massive worldwide reaction because of the historic rivalry that defined much of their careers.
During the peak years of El Clásico, the Catalan manager led one of the greatest FC Barcelona sides ever assembled while Cristiano starred for Real Madrid, turning both into central figures of one of the biggest rivalries in sports history.
Now, more than a decade later, Saudi Arabia attempted to create a completely unexpected scenario: uniting both legends under the same project to transform Al-Nassr into a definitive global powerhouse.
Guardiola prepares to say goodbye to Manchester City
While speculation surrounding his future continues, Guardiola is preparing to manage Manchester City for the final time after a historic decade in England.
The Spanish coach leaves the club after completely transforming the institution and winning multiple domestic and international titles, including the UEFA Champions League and several Premier League trophies.
For now, according to his agent, there will be no immediate new talks with Al-Nassr or the Saudi Arabian Federation. Still, the fact that Saudi Arabia attempted to convince Guardiola once again proves the country remains determined to attract the biggest names in world football.
