Could Mohamed Salah miss a farewell at Anfield? Slot’s stance raises doubts
The future of Mohamed Salah remains uncertain, and now even his farewell at Anfield may not happen the way many Liverpool fans imagined.
The future of Mohamed Salah remains uncertain, and now even his farewell at Anfield may not happen the way many Liverpool fans imagined.
Despite the Egyptian star potentially playing his final match for the club, manager Arne Slot refused to guarantee him a place in the starting lineup against Brentford.
Slot refuses to confirm Salah in the lineup
Speaking at his press conference, Slot avoided confirming whether Salah will start Liverpool’s final home game of the season.
“Will he play? I never say anything about the lineup, so I won’t do it now”.
The Dutch coach explained that Liverpool’s priority is ending a disappointing season on a positive note.
“We want to give our fans a good way to finish the season because there have been too many disappointments for the club, the fans, the staff and the players”.
He also noted that Brentford are still fighting for important objectives related to European qualification.

Slot responds to Salah’s Instagram message
Slot was also asked about Salah’s recent Instagram post in which the Egyptian forward spoke about restoring Liverpool’s attacking identity and players adapting to that philosophy.
The Liverpool manager downplayed any possible tension between the two.
“I think Mo and I want exactly the same thing: what’s best for this club”.
Slot stressed that both remain focused on returning Liverpool to the top of English football.
Social media rumors around Liverpool
Reports in England have suggested frustration inside the dressing room after an inconsistent campaign, especially after some players liked Salah’s social media post.
Slot, however, dismissed the situation.
“I’m not involved in social media, so I don’t really know what it means if someone likes a post or not”.
The Dutch manager insisted he has not noticed any issues within the squad.
“What I do know is how the players train, and I haven’t seen anything different compared to the rest of the season”.
