Bruno Fernandes Isn’t Tempted by Millions: He Wants To Stay at Manchester United
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has made it clear that his commitment to the Red Devils comes before any big-money offer. Despite interest from several Saudi Arabian clubs, the Portuguese midfielder has no plans to leave Old Trafford, convinced he still has much to give to the club where he’s become a key figure since arriving in 2020 from Sporting Lisbon.
According to journalist Simon Stone from BBC Sport, the 31-year-old is “fully committed” to United’s project and has no intention of joining the Saudi Pro League, a competition that in recent years has lured major stars with astronomical contracts. Fernandes, however, prefers to continue writing his story in Manchester, where he recently reached 100 goals for the club after scoring in the 2-1 win over Chelsea.
A leader in turbulent times
Manchester United seems to be regaining its rhythm after weeks of tension. The team managed by Rúben Amorim secured their third consecutive win at Old Trafford, something that hadn’t happened since his arrival in November 2024. The 2-0 victory over Sunderland helped ease the pressure on the Portuguese coach, who had begun to feel the weight of the crisis.
Goals from Mason Mount and Benjamin Sesko sealed a win that came at the perfect time. Mount, who had only scored twice since joining from Chelsea in 2023, opened the scoring in the 8th minute with a beautiful strike reminiscent of Fernandes’ style: elegant control, precise finishing, and on-field leadership. Sesko, meanwhile, delivered again with his second goal in a row, proving he can be the striker the team needs.
Fernandes’ commitment and the team’s response
Beyond the rumors, Bruno Fernandes remains United’s emotional engine. His competitive spirit and influence in the dressing room have made him a role model for both young players and new signings. In the clash against Sunderland, the Portuguese once again commanded the midfield with authority, supported by Casemiro’s stability and Mount’s creativity.

The victory leaves Manchester United in eighth place with ten points, just four behind the Champions League spots, while Sunderland sits one point ahead with eleven. In a season where consistency has been a luxury, Fernandes embodies something money can’t buy: loyalty and a true sense of belonging.
