Bernardo Silva To Leave Manchester City
It was confirmed in a press conference that a club legend, Portuguese star Bernardo Silva, will leave the team this summer. This marks the end of a spectacular spell at Manchester City, where he won virtually everything.
The End of an Era
Pep Lijnders, the club’s assistant coach, confirmed what had been rumored in recent weeks: “Every good story comes to an end.” The Portuguese midfielder won around 18 titles wearing the sky blue shirt and established himself as the main playmaker in the team led by Pep Guardiola.
With Manchester City, he has made around 450 appearances and scored 76 goals. He could still add to his legacy by winning the FA Cup, a competition in which the team has already reached the semifinals and is aiming for its eighth title.
An Uncertain Future
The player will leave as a free agent this summer and, although his next destination is still unclear, several clubs have shown interest. Among them is FC Barcelona, which has been closely monitoring him for several seasons.
Leaving on a free transfer makes the deal much more accessible for the Catalan side, which is currently unable to make major investments. A midfielder with his qualities would fit perfectly into the system of Hansi Flick.

Lijnders also stated that there is no other player like him: he is virtually irreplaceable. His departure suggests that Guardiola’s side is preparing for a deep rebuild to remain competitive at the highest level. The goal is to refresh the squad and surround Erling Haaland with new teammates who can help Manchester City compete again for the top honors in Europe.
Bernardo Silva leaves as a true legend. Now, all that remains is to see where he will go next… Barcelona?
