Arsenal's Gabriel leaves Brazil camp with thigh injury
Brazil have confirmed Gabriel Magalhaes will miss their friendly against Tunisia, and he is also a doubt for Arsenal's upcoming matches.
Gabriel Magalhaes has withdrawn from the Brazil squad ahead of Tuesday's friendly against Tunisia, making him a doubt for Arsenal's derby clash with Tottenham on Sunday.
Gabriel hobbled off just after the hour mark as the Selecao overcame Senegal 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, with Estevao and Casemiro getting the goals.
Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti subsequently confirmed Gabriel had complained of pain in his adductor and said the centre-back would be assessed by the medical staff.
On Sunday, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) said in a statement: "Arsenal player Gabriel was re-evaluated this Sunday and underwent imaging tests that revealed a muscle injury in his right thigh.
"Therefore, the player will not travel with the team to the match against Tunisia in Lille. No other player will be called up to replace him."
Should Gabriel spend time on the sidelines, that would represent a major blow for Arsenal, who take on Tottenham and Bayern Munich in their next two games.
Gabriel has started all 11 of Arsenal's Premier League games this season, helping them keep a league-high seven clean sheets and concede just five goals.
Gabriel is not the only Arsenal defender nursing an injury, with Riccardo Calafiori also leaving the Italy squad ahead of their meeting with Norway on Sunday.
