Arsenal Move for Victor Osimhen

Arsenal are once again looking at Victor Osimhen. The Galatasaray striker has emerged as one of Mikel Arteta’s options to strengthen an attack that could still add another major piece before the transfer window closes.

According to Foot Mercato, talks have already taken place regarding the Nigerian striker. The biggest obstacle, however, is financial. Arsenal are interested in moving forward but are not prepared to match the salary Osimhen currently earns in Turkey, which reportedly exceeds €20 million per year.

The decision could ultimately come down to the player himself: lower his financial demands to return to one of the biggest leagues in the world or remain the biggest star at Galatasaray.

Osimhen Is Unstoppable in Turkey

Convincing Galatasaray will not be easy either.

The Turkish champions consider the Nigerian a fundamental part of their project, and his start to the season has only strengthened that position.

Osimhen is tearing apart defenses in the Süper Lig.

On Saturday, he scored another brace in the 4-0 victory over Erzurumspor FK, after finding the net twice against Çorum FK on Matchday 1.

The numbers are spectacular: four goals in two matches and back-to-back braces.

His performances perfectly explain why Arsenal have once again placed his name among their options to strengthen the attack. Osimhen offers power, speed, constant movement behind defenders and, most importantly, an enormous ability to finish inside the penalty area.

Arteta Wants More Goals at Arsenal

For Mikel Arteta, adding a striker with these characteristics would provide another attacking option for a season in which Arsenal are expected to challenge for the Premier League and compete for the UEFA Champions League.

But money will be decisive.

According to Foot Mercato, the North London club are not prepared to break their wage structure to land the Nigerian. In addition, Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek has maintained a firm stance regarding the future of his star striker.

So while there is interest, taking Osimhen away from Istanbul will require much more than simply convincing the player.

While the transfer market decides his future, the striker continues doing what he does best.

Four goals in two league matches, and a spectacular start to the season that has once again put Victor Osimhen on the radar of Europe’s biggest clubs.
