“Cold” Palmer’s Hot Streak Cools Off! The Chelsea Star Faces Weeks on the Sidelines
Bad news for Chelsea. Cole Palmer’s injury is more serious than expected, and his return will take longer than planned.
Chelsea Won’t Take Any Risks
Bad news for Chelsea and Enzo Maresca. The London club has decided to keep Cole Palmer out until November to avoid setbacks in his recovery. The 23-year-old Englishman has been dealing with a persistent groin injury that has worsened since preseason.
Although there was hope he would return after the international break, the club’s medical staff believe extending his rest is the safest option. “We don’t want to take unnecessary risks,” was the message coming out of Stamford Bridge after a meeting held on Wednesday to assess his progress.
A Costly Absence for Maresca
Palmer has only managed to play four matches this season after feeling discomfort on September 20, when Maresca replaced him in the 21st minute against Manchester United — a game the Blues won 2–1. Since then, the coach has refused to rush his return to the pitch.
The player will miss upcoming fixtures against Nottingham Forest, Ajax, Sunderland, and Wolves, with a potential comeback set for November 25, when Chelsea face Barcelona in the Champions League league phase.
The Player Chelsea Misses Most
In his first season at Stamford Bridge, Cole Palmer became one of the club’s breakout stars, recording 52 appearances, 18 goals, and 14 assists across all competitions. His absence leaves a creative void in Chelsea’s attack, stripping the team of one of its most decisive players.
The coaching staff’s priority is to ensure Palmer is fully fit before returning him to competition. Chelsea would rather wait a few extra weeks than risk the long-term future of one of their brightest young stars.
