Following Jurgen Klopp's surprise announcement of his departure from Liverpool FC at the end of the current season, sources from ESPN report that the Merseyside club has already selected their successor. Arne Slot, the current head coach of Feyenoord in the Netherlands, is the chosen one.

According to ESPN sources, the 45-year-old Slot is Liverpool's primary target due to the fact that their top desire, Xabi Alonso, will reportedly remain at Bayer Leverkusen for another year after winning the Bundesliga.

However, Slot signed a contract extension last season, tying him to Feyenoord until 2026. Therefore, Liverpool would have to pay $11 million to activate his release clause and secure him as their next manager.

Arne Slot boasts two Eredivisie titles (2022-2023 and 2023-2024) on his resume, along with a runner-up position in the Europa Conference League. In the current season, his team has only suffered two league defeats, scoring 77 goals while conceding just 23.
