Thiago Silva's Emotional Farewell to Chelsea
The Brazilian center-back announced that he will leave the London club at the end of the season after joining four years ago from PSG.
Thiago Silva will not continue with Chelsea next season. The Brazilian center-back announced the decision on Monday in an emotional video shared by the London club on its social media platforms.
Silva joined the London club in 2020 for what was initially planned to be a one-year stint, but it turned into a four-year tenure with the "Blues." Over those four years, he developed a deep affection for Chelsea.
So much so that he expressed hope that this is just a temporary goodbye and that he could return to the London club in the future, in any capacity.
"This doesn't mean that it's a definitive farewell. I hope to leave the door open so that I can return in the future, even in another role here," said an emotional Thiago Silva.
"It's an indescribable love. All I can say is thank you," added the Brazilian. He has five more games left with Chelsea, the most special being the last one on May 19 at Stamford Bridge against Bournemouth. There, he will have the chance to bid farewell to the fans who have supported him over the past four years.
