Manchester United Puts All Its Players Up for Sale... Including Bruno Fernandes
Manchester United is going through one of its most turbulent periods in decades. After a disastrous season that ended with a painful defeat to Tottenham in the Europa League final in Bilbao, the English club faces a severe financial crisis that has forced drastic decisions: no player is considered untouchable, not even team captain Bruno Fernandes.
Everyone on the market... including Bruno Fernandes
According to reports from The Guardian and Sky Sports, United’s management has opened the door to offers for every player in the squad, including big names like Casemiro, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, André Onana, Rasmus Højlund, Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho, and captain Bruno Fernandes. The loss to Spurs not only cost the team a place in the Champions League, but also ruled them out of all European competitions for just the second time in 35 years — a blow that could mean up to £100 million in lost revenue.

The financial pressure is immense. The club has posted over €300 million in losses over the last three years, forcing Sir Jim Ratcliffe to implement a cost-cutting plan that includes around 450 job cuts. On top of that, the owners have reportedly capped the summer transfer budget at under £100 million (about €118 million), far below the spending power seen in previous windows.
In this context, signing a player like Florian Wirtz, valued at over €150 million, is completely off the table. United is expected to focus on more affordable targets like Matheus Cunha of Wolverhampton, whose release clause is around €74 million. However, that deal could leave no room for other targets like Liam Delap, valued at €35 million.
Rúben Amorim, who still has the board’s backing despite a poor campaign, will now need to build his project on a tight budget and seek smart market opportunities — such as Rayan Cherki, who has just one year left on his contract with Lyon.
Manchester United is undergoing a major restructuring process. Its rich history alone is no longer enough to retain its stars or attract top talent without the appeal of European football. The message is clear: everyone is for sale, and only the best offers will shape the future of a club now hitting rock bottom both on and off the pitch.
