Liverpool Warns of The Worst Regarding Trent Alexander-Arnold Who Seems Set to join Real Madrid Imminently
Trent Alexander-Arnold's future appears to be drifting away from Liverpool and closer to Real Madrid, but his departure is not without drama. Just days away from the expiration of his contract with the Reds, the English full-back has become the center of attention due to comments made by his current manager, Arne Slot, who revealed concerns about his attitude during the season.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Slot admitted he had some doubts about Alexander-Arnold’s commitment in training sessions at the start of the campaign. "I wasn’t entirely happy with the way he trained. I believe there were moments when he could have given more during practice, and that’s what I told him when he came to speak with me,” the Dutch coach explained.

Slot also praised some of the defender’s qualities, but didn’t hold back his criticism: “He’s a much better defender than people think, but he doesn’t always show it. If he stays focused, not many players can dribble past him—he’s fast, agile, and has a strong mentality.”
Real Madrid set to sign him... but Liverpool delivers a veiled warning
These remarks come just as Alexander-Arnold is on the verge of joining Real Madrid in what could be one of the biggest transfers of the summer. The right-back already announced weeks ago that he won’t renew with Liverpool, and his official departure is set for June 30.
In a rather ironic tone, Slot even joked about his future: “Maybe this will be my first gift to Xabi Alonso,” referring to the Spanish coach who could take charge of Real Madrid next season.
The player's decision has not sat well with fans. In his last game at Anfield against Arsenal, Alexander-Arnold was booed, and this Sunday, in the match against Crystal Palace, he will wear the red shirt for the last time. Although the game won’t impact the standings, it will serve as a symbolic farewell followed by a special moment: Liverpool will lift the Premier League trophy in front of their home fans for the first time since 1990, as they were forced to celebrate behind closed doors in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure leaves a bittersweet mark on the club where he grew up. And while Madrid welcomes him with open arms, Liverpool makes sure to point out that their star—though brilliant—also comes with shadows.
