Casemiro: "Was I One of The best Premier League Signings and Now I'm Worth Nothing?"
Casemiro, midfielder for Manchester United, spoke about the criticism he has received this season and wondered: "Last season I was one of the best signings in the Premier League, and now I’m worth nothing?"
"At the start of the season, I was given the Player of the Month trophy. Then I suffered a significant injury, came back, and got injured again. Now I'm playing as a central defender... It's difficult, we've had injuries, and the coach has never had all 25 players available. It's very challenging for the club," the Brazilian declared to Sky Sports.
Casemiro responded to criticism from Jamie Carragher, a commentator for the same channel, who suggested that he should leave football before football leaves him.
"Criticism is part of the game, and I've always been very calm about it. When it's constructive criticism, it's welcome. In football, when you've been at the top level for ten years, if your performance drops a bit, criticism will come. But when I'm disrespected, I don't think that's right. That's when I lose respect for those people," he added.
"Last season I was considered one of the best signings in the Premier League, and now, do I no longer have any value? The criticism has been disrespectful, so when I'm disrespected, I find it concerning, and I don't have to respect it," he concluded.
