Legia Warsaw Strikes Late to Maintain Dominance Over GKS Katowice
Legia Warsaw delivered a thrilling finish in the PKO Bank Polski Ekstraklasa, securing a 3-1 victory over GKS Katowice with a decisive stoppage-time push.
First-half advantage for the hosts
The capital side took the lead before halftime when Paweł Wszołek finished off a well-worked move after a precise assist from Artur Jędrzejczyk. With Kacper Tobiasz in goal, Legia looked set for a routine win, keeping their defensive record intact.
Katowice shocks, but Legia answers back
Late in the match, GKS Katowice found the equalizer, becoming the first team to score against Tobiasz this season. The 1-1 draw seemed poised to hand Legia their fifth home draw of 2025 — the most of any team this year.
But in the 95th minute, the script flipped. This time Wszołek turned provider, delivering a pinpoint cross for captain Jędrzejczyk to finish and restore the lead.

Morishita seals the win
In the dying moments, Ryoya Morishita netted his first-ever goal in Warsaw in the PKO BP Ekstraklasa, sealing a 3-1 victory. The result extended Legia’s winning streak over GKS to nine matches, with each of the last six victories coming by at least a two-goal margin.
Legia not only protected their home turf but also reinforced their unquestionable dominance over GKS Katowice.
