Luis Suárez Punished for “Violent Conduct” as Lionel Messi Loses His Key Partner Against Nashville
History repeats itself. Luis Suárez has been handed a one-match ban after his violent action against Nashville and will miss Inter Miami’s decisive playoff clash.
A New Punishment for the “Pistolero”
Luis Suárez finds himself in the spotlight once again. The Uruguayan striker has been suspended for one match by the MLS Disciplinary Committee after kicking an opponent during Inter Miami’s 2-1 loss to Nashville.
The incident went unpunished during the match —neither by the referee nor VAR— but was later reviewed and deemed “violent conduct.” As a result, the veteran forward will miss the third and decisive playoff match in which Lionel Messi’s team will fight for a place in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
A History That Keeps Catching Up With Him
This is not the first time Suárez has been sanctioned this season. Earlier in the year, he was banned for six games in the Leagues Cup and another three in MLS for spitting during the final against the Seattle Sounders.
Now, the Uruguayan will miss one of Inter Miami’s most crucial fixtures of the season. Without his attacking presence, the team will have to fight for qualification against a Nashville side eager to cause an upset.
The suspension comes at the worst possible moment for the club and reignites the debate about the striker’s fiery temperament. Once again, Luis Suárez’s passion has cost him dearly on the pitch.
