Los Angeles FC have sacked head coach Marc Dos Santos after a poor run of form in MLS.
LAFC sack Dos Santos amid MLS struggles
After just one win across their last 10 MLS games, Los Angeles FC have sacked head coach Marc Dos Santos ahead of an important run.
Dos Santos was appointed to the role in December 2025 after serving as an assistant under previous boss Steve Cherundolo, but has been relieved of his duties after just 38 games in charge across all competitions.
The 49-year-old won 17 of his 38 games at the helm (D11 L10), with his 44.7% win rate the lowest of any LAFC head coach since their first match in 2018 (Cherundolo – 53.9%, Bob Bradley – 47.2%).
LAFC made a strong start to the 2026 season, but have fallen to sixth in the Western Conference after just one win across their last 10 games in the league (D5 L4).
The Black and Gold are now closer to eighth-place rivals LA Galaxy (five points) than they are to conference leader Vancouver Whitecaps (nine points), and they are very much at risk of missing out on home-field advantage for the play-offs.
With just six games to go before the postseason, LAFC have decided to part ways with Dos Santos.
“Marc has given a great deal to this club over the years, and we are grateful for his commitment, care and contributions to LAFC. We wish Marc and his family all the best moving forward," said John Thorrington, LAFC's president of soccer operations.
After the international break, LAFC host Vancouver and Austin FC before a trip to New York City FC.
The club are yet to name an interim boss, despite the play-offs now looming on the horizon.
