Orlando City's interim head coach Martin Perelman labelled Antoine Griezmann as "humble" following his first game with the club.

Griezmann made his Orlando debut on Wednesday in their 4-0 win over the San Jose Earthquakes, and the Frenchman scored the third goal at PayPal Park.

The victory saw Orlando move up to 10th in the Eastern Conference, but a tough test against leaders Nashville SC is up next.

Perelman admitted there is nothing new to learn about Griezmann on the pitch, but he has praised the personality of the striker off the field.

"Well, [Griezmann], as I always say when somebody asks me about him, I’m not going to discover anything about him as a player," said Perelman.

"Everybody knows how special he is on the field. What I can tell you is that off the field, it's amazing with his energy. He’s so humble, he brings good energy to all of us. 

"It’s a pleasure and an honour, not only for me, but everyone in Orlando, to share this on a daily basis with him."

Orlando goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau shared that sentiment, adding: "Antoine is such a gentleman.

"On and off the field, he’s been somebody that is fantastic for the club, somebody who is very dedicated to the system and you can see his quality.

"He relieves us a lot on the ball, to find spaces and to keep the ball, and obviously you saw his quality with the finish.

"He doesn’t need a couple of chances, that’s why he’s such a great player. 

"He’s been fantastic in our locker room and within our entourage. It’s a blessing to have him."

Nashville are five points clear of Inter Miami at the top of the East after stringing together a five-game winning run.

They have won both of their games since the end of the World Cup break, most recently defeating CF Montreal 1-0.

Orlando City – Antoine Griezmann

Griezmann's goal on his MLS debut against the Earthquakes was the 300th of his club career.

He also led the game for chances created (five), and led Orlando's players for touches (70), passes (54) and accurate passes (45).

Nashville SC – Sam Surridge

Surridge netted the winner for Nashville against Montreal, scoring from the penalty spot in the 68th minute.

He has now scored 10 goals in as many MLS games this season; he averages a goal every 63.9 minutes this season, the best rate of any player with five or more goals.

MATCH PREDICTION – NASHVILLE SC WIN

Nashville are unbeaten in their last 10 MLS games (W8 L2) and have only lost once all season, a 1-0 defeat to the Chicago Fire in April.

This will be the second meeting between these two sides this season; Nashville won the first 5-0, thanks to a Surridge hat-trick.

Orlando have conceded the most goals of any MLS side this season (44), though they kept their first clean sheet in 2026 last time out against San Jose.
