Paris Saint-Germain once again showed why it can never be counted out. The defending champions entered the 90th minute trailing an efficient Lille side 2-0, but when everything appeared decided, PSG showed its character: Vitinha struck in the 90+1st minute before Marquinhos completed a remarkable comeback in the 90+5th to rescue a 2-2 draw.

The comeback took only five minutes, but it was also the product of PSG's persistence after Luis Enrique's side had taken control of the match during the second half and continued pushing toward Berke Özer's goal.

Luis Enrique ultimately celebrated a point that had seemed almost impossible. For the second consecutive league match, his team recovered from a two-goal deficit, showing once again that PSG has the resources to stay alive until the very last action.

PSG pushes, but Lille takes its chance

The champions entered the match without Ousmane Dembélé, who was rested, while Khvicha Kvaratskhelia began on the bench. Ferran Torres, whose brace erased a 2-0 deficit against Stade Rennes in the opening round, started the game.

PSG looked to impose itself, but Lille landed the opening blow.

In the 21st minute, Olivier Giroud took advantage of a moment when the Parisian defense was caught out of position and found Hakon Arnar Haraldsson, who produced a finish that gave Matvey Safonov no chance.

The goal allowed Davide Ancelotti's side to play with the lead, although PSG created opportunities to respond before halftime.

Ferran had a couple of chances and Désiré Doué also threatened to equalize. At the other end, Haraldsson had an opportunity to double Lille's advantage.

The hosts took their 1-0 lead into halftime.

Kvaratskhelia comes on as PSG takes control

Luis Enrique looked for a response after the break and turned to Kvaratskhelia.

The Georgian's introduction coincided with PSG's strongest spell of the match.

The champions took control, setting up around Lille's penalty area and forcing the hosts to defend increasingly close to their own goal.

Vitinha tried to connect with Marquinhos inside the box, while Kvaratskhelia came extremely close to an equalizer with a trademark effort that flashed just past the post.

PSG's goal appeared to be coming.

However, with the visitors committing numbers forward in search of the equalizer, Lille found space to threaten on the break. Giroud nearly capitalized with a header that went over the bar.

Then, in the 84th minute, came what appeared to be the decisive blow.

Giroud provided his second assist, finding Dilane Bakwa, who had recently replaced Ethan Mbappé. Bakwa produced a precise strike into the top corner, leaving Safonov with no chance.

2-0 with six minutes remaining.

The match appeared over.

PSG had other ideas.

Five minutes that show the champions' character

The 90th minute arrived with Lille still holding a two-goal advantage. For most teams, the game would have been over.

PSG kept attacking.

In the 90+1st minute, Vitinha finally found the opening PSG had been searching for throughout the second half, unleashing a spectacular strike into the top corner.

2-1.

The goal completely changed the final moments. Lille went from managing the clock to trying to survive one last push from the champions.

PSG threw everything forward.

And with virtually no time remaining, one of its leaders stepped up.

Marquinhos, pushed forward in search of the equalizer, found the net in the 90+5th minute.

2-2.

Luis Enrique's celebration reflected what his team had just accomplished. PSG entered stoppage time two goals behind and emerged with a point after a frantic late comeback.

It was not the champions' easiest night, but it was another demonstration of their ability to compete until the final whistle.

They had already done it against Rennes, when Ferran Torres scored twice to erase another 2-0 deficit. One week later, Vitinha and Marquinhos took their turn.
