AS Monaco secured an important 2-1 away victory over Olympique Lyonnais in a match full of intensity and momentum shifts.
Lyon started strong at home and took the lead in the 42nd minute through Pavel Šulc, who capitalized on a defensive gap to put his side ahead before halftime.
However, the second half belonged to Monaco. Maghnes Akliouche leveled the score in the 62nd minute with a well-taken finish, giving the visitors new energy. Just ten minutes later, Folarin Balogun converted a penalty in the 72nd minute to complete the comeback.
Lyon pushed forward in search of an equalizer, but their chances were severely impacted when Nicolás Tagliafico was sent off in the 89th minute. Reduced to ten men, the home side struggled to create clear opportunities in the closing moments.
