‘It was a PlayStation goal!’ – Luis Enrique lauds special Dembele strike versus Lille
Ousmane Dembele was the star of the show again for Paris Saint-Germain as he scored a brace in their 3-0 win against Lille on Friday.
Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique labelled Ousmane Dembele’s second strike against Lille a “PlayStation goal” as his side won 3-0 at the Parc des Princes.
Dembele opened the scoring with a brilliant finish from the edge of the box, but his second goal in the 64th minute was even better, as he shimmied to send three defenders the wrong way before scooping the ball over goalkeeper Berke Ozer from near the edge of the box.
In his 250th match in the top five European leagues, Dembele scored his 70th and 71st league goals, while also surpassing the 40-goal mark in Ligue 1 (41).
The PSG forward scored his 34th and 35th goals in the top five European leagues with his left foot, compared to 32 with his right foot (and four with his head).
Luis Enrique, meanwhile, brought up a landmark of his own as he won his 100th match as PSG's head coach.
The Spaniard was glad to see his side settle down after a nervy start, with Olivier Giroud striking the woodwork inside two minutes, and he was full of praise for 2025 Ballon d’Or winner Dembele.
“It feels good. When there are wins, it’s important,” Luis Enrique told BeIN Sports.
“We’re starting the second half of the season, but we had some problems. Lille played very well. We had a better second half than the first.
“We had the luck we didn’t have against Paris FC. We scored three goals, but Lille played well.
“Dembele? It was an incredible goal from a different kind of player. It was a PlayStation goal!
“We want to see and enjoy Ousmane again, but I hope for even more. He can be a leader like he was last season. I want even more from him.”
Dembele has scored in each of his last four starts for PSG in all competitions (five goals), after finding the net in only one of his first five in 2025-26 (two goals against Toulouse).
The 28-year-old was happy with the quality of his second goal, but even more pleased about his recent return to fitness after an injury-plagued six months.
“I wanted to shoot first time, I miscontrolled it, I wanted to get onto my left foot, so I tried and I succeeded. I’ve scored some nice ones, but that one’s pretty good,” he commented on his goal, before discussing his form.
“I feel very good after a first half of the season when I had injuries; it was a blessing in disguise. Now I’m 100% fit for the second half.”
