Marseille have become serious title rivals to PSG in the Ligue 1 race due to the team's ability to bounce back, when in previous years the players might have crumbled. When Marseille lost a huge match to Lyon at the end of August, Roberto de Zerbi's side pulled up their soccer socks and proceeded to win five Ligue 1 games in a row, including a famous victory over PSG.

 The Ligue 1 giants will look to repeat the feat on Wednesday by defeating struggling Angers in Le Velodrome, just days after a 2-1 loss to Lens in a truly vibrant encounter. Despite the defeat, Marseille is just two points and two places behind PSG at the top of the standings. 

 A certain steel has been put into the spine of the club by the Italian coach, who reacted to critics of Saturday's Lens loss. “It makes me laugh, all these controversies — they really come from people who don’t like OM," scoffed De Zerbi ahead of Wednesday's match. 

Angers are currently fourth from bottom of the standings, with just two wins this season. However, Wednesday's visitors did manage to make life difficult for Lyon and PSG earlier in the season by making them work for their 1-0 wins.
