Ferran Torres’ debut for Paris Saint-Germain could hardly have made a bigger impact. The Spanish forward came on for the second half and scored twice to help Luis Enrique’s side rescue a 2-2 draw against Stade Rennes at Roazhon Park.
Ferran Scores Twice on Debut to Rescue PSG Against Stade Rennes
Ferran Torres enjoyed a spectacular debut for Paris Saint-Germain, scoring twice in the second half to erase a 2-0 deficit and rescue a 2-2 draw against Stade Rennes in Ligue 1.
The French champions went into halftime in serious trouble after the hosts made the most of their opportunities in the opening 45 minutes. Sebastian Szymanski opened the scoring in the ninth minute following a quick transition involving Adrien Thomasson.
The lead was doubled in the 38th minute. Mousa Al Tamari started an excellent combination with a backheel to Przemyslaw Frankowski, who sent the ball into the box for Esteban Lepaul to finish and make it 2-0.

Luis Enrique Turns to Ferran Torres
With his team in trouble, Luis Enrique reacted at halftime and made a major decision. Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia were taken off to make way for Ferran Torres and Mika Godts.

The move ultimately proved decisive, although the comeback truly began to take shape when Fabián Ruiz was introduced for the final half-hour.
Ferran quickly established a connection with his fellow Spaniard and, in the 71st minute, received an excellent delivery from the midfielder. The former Barcelona player controlled the ball before finishing to score his first goal in a PSG shirt.
Ferran Completes His Brace and Prevents Defeat
PSG increased the pressure as they searched for an equalizer. Désiré Doué had an opportunity to level the match, but his effort went over the crossbar.
Eventually, the Spanish connection struck again. Fabián Ruiz delivered another excellent ball and Ferran Torres headed home to complete his brace and make it 2-2.
The result prevented another defeat for Luis Enrique’s side, who were coming off a loss to Lens in the French Super Cup. For Ferran, however, the afternoon could hardly have gone better: two goals on his debut and a decisive performance to rescue a point for Paris Saint-Germain.
