Barcelona Halts the Sale of Ansu Fati to Monaco and Seeks to Secure His Future With Control Clauses.
Barça delays Ansu Fati's departure and seeks ways to maintain control over the young player's future, while Deco moves forward with his signing plan.
Ansu Fati at Barcelona
The case of Ansu Fati is once again on FC Barcelona's agenda. Although it was assumed days ago that AS Monaco would exercise the purchase option for 12.7 million dollars, the Barcelona club has not yet made the deal official. The delay is not accidental: the Barcelona management considers the academy player an asset of greater economic value and seeks to maintain some control over his future
The Gordon dilemma
According to the Spanish press, the signing of Anthony Gordon for 81.3 million dollars potentially closed the door on Fati's continued stay at Barça. Hansi Flick doesn't have him in his plans, even though his contract with the club runs until 2028. However, Monaco has until June 30 to exercise the purchase option, which keeps the case open for resolution.

The negotiations
The negotiation is not limited to the initial amount. Barça intends to protect itself against a possible leap in the striker's level. That's why the executives are working on formulas such as a buyback option or a percentage of a future sale, mechanisms that would allow the club to avoid criticism if Fati performs well and is then sold to a competitor for a much higher amount
