Paris Saint-Germain have announced the arrival of Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco in a deal reportedly worth up to €50m. 

Akliouche was also of interest to Premier League side Liverpool, but he has opted to stay in France and put pen to paper on a five-year deal with Luis Enrique's side. 

The 24-year-old is PSG's first big arrival of the summer, having missed out on RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande, who joined Real Madrid earlier on Thursday. 

During his time at Monaco, where he rose through the club's academy ranks, Akliouche went on to make 139 first-team appearances across all competitions. 

He registered 50 goal involvements (23 goals, 27 assists) across those outings, but he enjoyed a standout campaign in 2025-26 as Monaco finished seventh in Ligue 1. 

In 43 appearances across all competitions, he managed seven goals and 10 assists, including a goal against PSG in the play-off knockout round of the Champions League. 

Across the last three Ligue 1 seasons, Akliouche also ranks first for balls recovered in the final third (88), second for assists (20) and third for both balls into the opponent's box (368) and final passes before a shot in open play (119). 

Akliouche's impressive campaign earned him a spot in Didier Deschamps' 26-man France squad for the World Cup, but he only made one appearance off the bench. 

His arrival at the Parc des Princes could also be an indication of both Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye's futures at the club, with the duo reportedly of interest to Liverpool. 

Barcola scored 13 goals in 49 outings for PSG in 2025-26 (not including the Club World Cup), with only Ousmane Dembele (20) and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (19) finding the net more often for the European champions.

He also ranked third in PSG's squad for dribbles attempted (156) and goal-ending carries (five), while only Kvaratskhelia (87) registered more take-on ending carries than his 79. Barcola also racked up 54 shots following carries – the most by any PSG player.

Akliouche could make his competitive PSG debut against Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup final on August 12, with the Trophee des Champions showpiece against Lens coming four days later. 

PSG begin their Ligue 1 title defence on August 23 at home to Rennes.
