Achraf Hakimi Shines With a Brace as PSG Regains the Top Spot in Ligue 1
Moroccan star Achraf Hakimi was the hero for Paris Saint-Germain, scoring twice to lead Luis Enrique’s team back to the top of Ligue 1 with a 2-0 victory over Brest.
Hakimi Takes Center Stage and Leads PSG’s Revival
Paris Saint-Germain showcased its dominance once again in domestic competition with a 2-0 win over Brest, a result that sends them back to the top of Ligue 1, at least temporarily. The standout performer was Moroccan full-back Achraf Hakimi, whose brace reaffirmed his influence under Luis Enrique and his knack for delivering in key moments.
The Parisian giants, who had been struggling for consistency in the French league, came into the match with just one win in their previous four games. However, following their emphatic 7-2 triumph over Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League, they carried that momentum into domestic play.
The opener came just after the half-hour mark when Vitinha delivered a perfect through ball to Hakimi, who finished with a precise low strike past goalkeeper Radoslaw Majecki. Ten minutes later, Hakimi struck again, reacting quickly to a rebound from a Khvicha Kvaratskhelia effort and firing the ball into the top corner to complete his brace before halftime.

Brest Misses a Penalty as PSG Seals the Win
The pace slowed in the second half, but Brest had a golden chance to pull one back after a handball by Kang In Lee led to a penalty following a VAR review. However, Romain Del Castillo squandered the opportunity, sending his shot high over the bar.
That miss deflated the home side, and PSG calmly controlled the game from then on. In the dying moments, Desire Doué added a third goal, finishing a well-placed assist from Warren Zaïre-Emery to cap off a dominant performance by the French champions.
With this victory, Paris Saint-Germain climbs back to the top of the table, awaiting Marseille’s result. The display by Achraf Hakimi once again proved that he’s far more than just a defender — he’s one of the most decisive attacking weapons in PSG’s arsenal.
