Paris FC and Olympique Lyon played out a 0-0 draw on Matchday 4 of the 2026-27 Ligue 1 season, a result that left both teams wanting more. PARIS FC SETTLE FOR A POINT AT HOME

Liam Rosenior’s side took the initiative during several stretches of the match, particularly in the second half, but could not find the necessary precision to break through Lyon’s defensive resistance.

One of the best chances came in the 50th minute, when Luca Koleosho received a through ball, entered the box and fired a shot that was deflected by Moussa Niakhaté, sending it narrowly wide of the post. Shortly afterward, Paris FC appealed for a possible penalty at 90'+1' following contact between Pierre Lees-Melou and Corentin Tolisso, but referee Jerome Brisard and VAR did not deem the challenge worthy of a spot kick.

The Parisian side enjoyed greater presence in the opposition half, but came up against a well-organized Lyon defense. Loïs Openda remained heavily involved in the attack and received a yellow card in the 62nd minute following a foul on Ilan Kebbal. The forward attempted to combine with Ernest Nuamah, but Paris FC’s pressure made it difficult for Lyon to create clear-cut chances.

Lyon and Paris FC entered the match with seven points and finished with eight, while Rennes moved to 10 points after a 1-0 win over Marseille. Monaco, meanwhile, drew 1-1 with Strasbourg to reach eight points.

As a result, the draw in Paris had a direct impact on the standings: Rennes pulled away at the top, while Monaco remained ahead of Paris FC and Lyon on goal difference.

With the season still in its early stages, the gap remains small. However, both teams knew they had an excellent opportunity to capitalize on Monaco’s dropped points and close the gap on the leaders. Neither side managed to do so.
