Boca Juniors Coach Hospitalized
🔥 👀 “BOCA JUNIORS’ COACH WILL REMAIN UNDER OBSERVATION AT THE FLENI INSTITUTE”
ROUTINE CHECK-UP
Boca Juniors coach Miguel Ángel Russo will remain hospitalized in a Buenos Aires clinic, where he arrived in the morning for a routine check-up. During the examination, he was diagnosed with a urinary infection.
REASON FOR HOSPITALIZATION
After detecting this condition and administering the corresponding antibiotics intravenously, doctors at the clinic decided that the experienced coach should remain under observation for 24 hours.
From Miguel Ángel Russo’s family circle, they confirmed: “He is fine, but by medical decision he will stay to receive medication and IV hydration.”
ROSARIO CENTRAL AHEAD
The veteran coach was on the bench last Sunday in the match against Aldosivi in Mar del Plata. In his last press conference, following the 2-0 win, Russo said:
“I haven’t thought about Central yet, even if you don’t believe it. Next weekend there’s no football, so it’s a different situation. We have to manage the week well with everything that’s coming.”
With the FIFA break coming, Boca’s next match will be on Sunday, September 14, in Rosario against Central (17:30), a club with which he is also closely linked.
Miguel Ángel Russo would not only return to the Gigante de Arroyito as Boca’s coach but also as an idol for the local fans. He left an indelible mark at Rosario Central, leading them to the Apertura 1995 title and earning a special place in the supporters’ hearts. Should he be able to travel, he is expected to receive a warm ovation from the “canalla” fans, who still recognize him as one of the most important managers in the club’s history.
According to TyC Sports, the 69-year-old coach had undergone tests last week to rule out any problems. However, after noticing he looked “visibly tired” in recent days, doctors decided to repeat the exams on Tuesday to clarify his current medical condition.
