The connection between the two players became one of the most admired relationships inside the Barcelona dressing room. Despite the age gap, Lewandowski played an important role in Yamal’s football development, mentoring the young star while forming part of the club’s attacking line. Together, they played 127 matches and built strong chemistry on the pitch.
The game against Betis marked the end of a historic chapter for Lewandowski at Barcelona. Since arriving from Bayern Munich in 2022, the Polish striker scored 119 goals in 191 appearances and helped the club win seven trophies, including three LaLiga titles and three Spanish Super Cups.
