Xabi Alonso’s Obsession: He Wants Yildiz at Any Cost
Real Madrid are already planning for the future, and the name echoing through the halls of the Santiago Bernabéu is Kenan Yildiz, the Turkish jewel of Juventus. According to Italian agent and intermediary Giovanni Branchini, Madrid coach Xabi Alonso personally requested his signing during the last summer transfer window, considering him a key piece for his long-term project.
“Xabi Alonso wants Yildiz at Real Madrid. He’s willing to let anyone go to sign him—except Mbappé. Juventus are currently asking for €100 million,” Branchini revealed in a recent interview, suggesting that the Madrid board may be ready to make a major financial push to secure the young star.
A Connection That Started at Bayern
Xabi Alonso’s interest in Yildiz is no coincidence. The two crossed paths at Bayern Munich, when the now-Real Madrid manager was still wearing the Bavarian shirt and the Turkish attacker was taking his first steps in the academy. Since then, a mutual respect has grown between them and has endured over the years.
Ahead of the recent Champions League clash between Real Madrid and Juventus, the Spanish coach didn’t hide his admiration for the youngster: “He’s developing fantastically. I’ve known him since his time at Bayern, and seeing his growth makes me very happy.”

At just 19 years old, Yildiz has been one of the revelations of the season in Italy. His skill, ability to break lines, and leadership in the dressing room have made him Juventus’ offensive reference point as the club looks to build a new winning project around him. However, growing interest from clubs like Real Madrid could disrupt those plans.
The Turkish Gem Dazzling Europe
The young Turkish international has already proven his potential against Real Madrid—both in the Champions League and the Club World Cup—impressing with his maturity and technical quality. It’s no surprise that he’s considered, alongside Arda Güler, one of the brightest hopes of Turkish football.
For his part, Yildiz hasn’t shied away from the praise or ruled out a move to Spain. “Every kid dreams of playing at the Bernabéu. It’s one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world. Facing Real Madrid in the Champions League was like a dream come true,” he said after the match against Los Blancos.
The transfer, however, won’t be easy. Juventus have made it clear they won’t negotiate for less than €100 million, but in Madrid, they understand that great talents never come cheap. And for Xabi Alonso, Yildiz is not just another prospect—he’s a football obsession he’s determined to make a reality, no matter the cost.
