Hansi Flick's Barcelona will head into the international break with a significant portion of the squad away on national team duty. A total of 17 players from the Catalan club have been called up by their respective countries, including players at the youth level.
Which Barcelona Players Have Been Called Up for This International Break?
Barcelona will have 17 players representing different national teams during the international break, with Spain featuring the largest Blaugrana contingent.
Spain have the largest number of representatives from the LaLiga leaders. Luis de la Fuente called up seven Barça players: Pau Cubarsí, Eric Garcia, Rodri, Pedri, Dani Olmo, Lamine Yamal and Fermín López.
The latter returns to the national team after an injury prevented him from taking part in the World Cup. Spain will play four matches during this international window, traveling to face England, hosting the Czech Republic and playing Croatia twice.
Barcelona Also Provide Talent to Spain's U-21 Team
The Blaugrana presence is not limited to Spain's senior national team. Xavi Espart and Marc Bernal were called up by Spain U-21, who will face Finland, San Marino and Romania.
Barcelona will also have representatives with other European national teams. Karim Adeyemi has returned to Germany, coached by Jürgen Klopp, for matches against Serbia and Croatia.
Joao Cancelo, meanwhile, was called up by Portugal to face Croatia, Wales and Norway, while Jules Kounde is part of the France squad for matches against Turkey, Belgium and Italy.
Raphinha and Barcelona's Other Internationals
Anthony Gordon will join England, while Hamza Albelkarim will represent Egypt and Jesse Bisiwu was called up by Belgium U-21.
Another player who will be closely monitored by Barcelona is Raphinha. The Brazilian is enjoying an excellent run of form and will play three friendly matches with Brazil, two in Australia and another in India.
Finally, Dominik Livakovic will also be on international duty after being called up by Croatia.
With 17 players joining different national teams, Hansi Flick will be keeping a close eye on their playing time and physical condition before they return to action with Barcelona.
