The 30-year-old midfielder arrived in Barcelona late Monday after traveling from Manchester and visited the club’s training facilities early Tuesday morning. After successfully completing his physical and medical tests, Rodri left the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper at around 5:30 a.m. Eastern Time (11:30 a.m. local time) and returned to his hotel.

The medical was one of the final steps before officially completing the agreement with Barcelona. The plan is for Rodri to sign his contract before being officially unveiled as the club’s newest signing.

According to reports from the Spanish media, his presentation could take place on Wednesday, August 19, coinciding with the Joan Gamper Trophy, when Barcelona traditionally presents its squad to the fans.

The increasingly likely scenario is for Rodri to have his first major encounter with Barcelona supporters on Wednesday, August 19, ahead of the club’s match against Al Ahly at Spotify Camp Nou.

The game is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time (8:00 p.m. Spain time). The presentation of the squad is expected to be one of the main events of the day, although Rodri’s involvement in the match remains uncertain given that he will have had very little time to train alongside his new teammates.

The Spanish midfielder arrived in Barcelona on Monday aboard a private jet from Manchester. Upon his arrival, Rodri made no secret of his excitement about starting this new chapter of his career, describing a move to Barça as “a dream” and setting his sights on winning the Champions League.

Rodri's Barcelona Contract Details
