Was Jude Bellingham Leaving? Real Madrid Shut Down Any Possibility of the English Star's Exit
A report that could have shaken the summer transfer market surfaced this Tuesday surrounding Jude Bellingham. According to Spanish journalist Pepe Álvarez, the England midfielder's father and agent, Mark Bellingham, met with the Real Madrid board following the end of last season to discuss the possibility of his son's departure.
However, the club's response was reportedly immediate and unequivocal: Bellingham is not for sale.
The report, shared by Pepe Álvarez on X, claims the meeting was prompted by alleged sporting disagreements between the player's camp and members of the club's sporting hierarchy. Despite those reported differences, Real Madrid made it clear that the England international remains untouchable and is considered one of the cornerstones of the club's long-term project.
The reported meeting also comes after a difficult finish to the season for the Spanish giants. Real Madrid closed the campaign amid growing pressure following performances that fell short of expectations and another season without winning the club's primary objectives. After two consecutive campaigns without lifting the biggest trophies, questions emerged about the team's direction, fueling speculation that significant changes could take place behind the scenes.
Bellingham Is Untouchable Under Mourinho
Although the report quickly grabbed headlines, a transfer appears highly unlikely.
The arrival of José Mourinho has only strengthened Bellingham's importance within Real Madrid. The Portuguese manager reportedly views the English midfielder as one of the most complete players in the squad thanks to his ability to win possession, drive the attack forward, break defensive lines, and consistently contribute in the final third.
On top of that, Bellingham's outstanding performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup further cemented his status as one of the leaders of the club's new era. His leadership, relentless work rate, and ability to deliver in the biggest matches reaffirmed his place among the world's elite midfielders.
For that very reason, it is difficult to imagine Real Madrid entertaining any offers for one of its most influential players. After a disappointing cycle by the club's standards, the priority is to strengthen the squad and rebuild a team capable of competing once again for LaLiga and the UEFA Champions League, not part ways with one of its biggest stars.
As a result, any potential transfer appears virtually impossible, with Real Madrid expected to build its next successful era around players such as Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappé, and Vinícius Júnior.

The Premier League Continues to Monitor the Situation
This is not the first time Bellingham has been linked with a return to England.
Since emerging as a star with Borussia Dortmund before joining Real Madrid, several Premier League powerhouses have been credited with an interest in the midfielder. Clubs including Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea have frequently been mentioned as potential destinations, although no formal negotiations with Real Madrid have ever been reported.
The England international joined Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2023 and immediately established himself as one of the club's biggest stars. Since then, he has won domestic and international titles while becoming one of the faces of both the present and the future at the Santiago Bernabéu.
For now, the report revealed by Pepe Álvarez remains a story that could have sparked one of the biggest transfer sagas of the summer. Nevertheless, Real Madrid's stance appears unwavering: Jude Bellingham is not for sale and remains one of the central figures in José Mourinho's long-term project.
