At Real Madrid, folders with the names of potential coaches are beginning to be crafted. Who are the possible new coaches for Real Madrid following the departure of Xabi Alonso?

Jürgen Klopp

Klopp is a name that attracts a lot of attention and one that Madrid has had its eye on for some time: he is the former German coach of Liverpool. Jürgen Klopp, in an interview with SERVUSTVON, confirmed that he had been contacted by people “who thought they should contact him directly,” but denied any official communication with the club. Although Klopp's interest is unclear, Real Madrid is likely to continue pursuing a possible signing.

Jürgen Klopp left Liverpool after the 2023-24 season and became director of football at Red Bull.

Enzo Maresca

He is another name that is being mentioned frequently. The Italian former Chelsea coach was dismissed at the beginning of the year. After winning the UEFA Europa Conference League and the first Club World Cup in his only year as coach of the club, he was dismissed to the surprise of the soccer world. 

These recent achievements position him, according to sources in Italy and England, as one of the possible replacements for Arbeola following the departure of Xabi Alonso.

Real Madrid's immediate future

Next three hurdles:

Los Merengues will face Albacete on January 14 in the Copa del Rey round of 16, three days later they will face Levante in the league, and they will finish against Monaco in a Champions League match.
