López even joked that had a proposal of around €100 million arrived, the club and Florentino Pérez would have “wrapped him up in paper to sell him.”

Fellow analyst Nacho Peña supported this view, emphasizing that both the board and Xabi Alonso were open to listening if the player had asked to leave — but only if a serious offer was on the table. Since that never happened, the Brazilian remains part of the Madrid squad.
