Athletic Club forwards Iñaki and Nico Williams are facing a legal process that will reach a crucial stage next Tuesday, January 27th. Both players have been summoned to testify via video conference before the Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 2 of Aoiz (Navarra) as suspects in an investigation into an alleged fraud and misappropriation scheme.

The origin of the conflict: a Mercedes AMG "The case stems from a lawsuit filed by the company OMNIGESTION 24 SLU, a firm specialized in the purchase and sale of vehicles. According to the prosecution, the events date back to late 2024, when the acquisition of a Mercedes AMG E63 was arranged.

• The prosecution's version: They maintain that a 'simulated sale' took place in the name of a relative and that, after the car was delivered, neither the payment nor the vehicle that was supposedly part of an exchange (trade-in) was ever received.
• Ongoing proceedings: The judge has requested reports from the DGT (General Directorate of Traffic) to track the ownership history of the vehicles involved and clarify whether a real financial loss occurred.

Strong response from the players "Since the case came to light last summer, the Williams brothers have maintained a firm stance of innocence. Through official statements, they have described the complaint as 'categorically false' and claim it is a strategy to damage their reputation and extort them into making an undue payment.

'Our consciences are clear; we have not committed any illicit act or anything contrary to our values,' stated the players, who do not rule out taking legal action for false accusation once the case is resolved.
