Real Madrid Presidential Elections 2026, Florentino Pérez vs Enrique Riquelme, Key Date on June 7
Real Madrid members will vote again after two decades, in an election that will define the club's institutional direction.
The date for the elections has already been set
Real Madrid has already marked on the calendar the date that will define its institutional future. The club's Electoral Board confirmed that on June 7, 2026, the presidential elections will be held, in which two prominent names will face off: Florentino Pérez, the current president who will seek to extend his term, and Enrique Riquelme, a young businessman from Alicante who aims to usher in a new era at the Casa Blanca
Real Madrid's Press Release
In the official statement, the Electoral Board detailed: "The Electoral Board of the Real Madrid Football Club, after examining the documentation presented by the various candidates, has declared the following candidacies as valid for the elections for President and Board of Directors of the club, led by the following members: Mr. Florentino Pérez Rodríguez (Member No. 1,484) and Mr. Enrique José Riquelme Vives (Member No. 41,736)". With this resolution, the process that will lead to a historic vote is formally opened.

The last time there were elections and the figures
The importance of these elections lies in the fact that they will be the first elections held at Real Madrid since 2006, when Ramón Calderón won after Pérez's resignation during his first term at the helm of the institution. Two decades later, the club is once again calling on its members to decide who will steer the sporting and economic course of the most decorated entity in world football.
The scenario couldn't be more significant; Florentino Pérez, a central figure in the club's modernization and the architect of projects like the new Santiago Bernabéu, will try to consolidate his legacy and remain in the presidential seat. On the other hand, Enrique Riquelme presents himself as a fresh alternative, with proposals aimed at renewing the structure and offering a long-term project.
The countdown has already begun. On June 7, the Madrid members will have the decision in their hands to choose between continuity or change, in an election that promises to mark a before and after in the recent history of Real Madrid.
